Teach Me Your Paths
4 Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths.
5 Lead me in your truth and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all the day long.
Your Word Is a Lamp to My Feet
119 Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the Lord!
2 Blessed are those who keep his testimonies,
who seek him with their whole heart,
3 who also do no wrong,
but walk in his ways!
Trust in the Lord with All Your Heart
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
Teach Me Your Paths
8 Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
9 He leads the humble in what is right,
and teaches the humble his way.
You Will Not Abandon My Soul
11 You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Unity in the Body of Christ
4 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. 7 But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift. 8 Therefore it says,
“When he ascended on high he led a host of captives,
and he gave gifts to men.”
9 (In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth? 10 He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

PASTOR TO PEOPLE
What do you want to be when you grow up?” was always the question. Adults would always ask it. As a kid, I would quietly wonder about it. When you’re young, there’s so much mystery surrounding your future. What will I do when I’m all grown up? Who will I become?
As followers of Jesus, these questions still ring true. Who will be when we’re all grown up? When the Father is finished with us, when the Spirit fully has His way within us, when we’re conformed to the image of the beloved Son, what will we do and who will we be?
If you know who you’ll one day be, it helps you know how to act in the here and now. That’s exactly what the Apostle Paul has in mind when he writes, “I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called” (Ephesians 4:1). If we’ve placed our trust in the finished work of Jesus, we are called God’s children by grace. That’s our calling. We are sons and daughters of God. And that new identity means a new way of living. Sons and daughters of God act in a certain way. Instead of fooling around like the rebellious orphans we once were, we are learning to walk in the newness of life that fits with our new calling and identity. Behavior flows from being; and behavior shapes our becoming. Paul is calling us to live out of our new identity in Christ as we become all we’re meant to be in Him. He’s calling us to act like the glorious sons and daughters of God we already are by grace, and will one day fully become in glory.
Remember who you are by grace. Remember who you are becoming in glory. And remember to act like yourself.
Because you are loved, more than you know!
